FAQ

How is an EMI licence different from MSB registration?

An EMI is a licence to issue electronic money granted by regulators in EU countries. An MSB is a money services business registration, for example with FINTRAC in Canada. Which regime applies depends on the market and the services you offer.

Can we operate in a market without a local entity?

It depends on the country. In Canada, for example, foreign service providers can register as a Foreign MSB before starting operations. We check the requirements of the chosen market at the outset.

Why do banks refuse fintech companies?

Often because of incomplete compliance, an unclear ownership structure or a high-risk model. Regulatory requirements and bank onboarding differ, so we prepare documents for both processes.
