Cases

FAQ

Do all crypto projects need a licence?

Not always. It depends on the business model: for example, a product that does not hold, exchange or transfer customers’ assets may not require a licence. That is why we first study your model and map it against the rules of the chosen jurisdictions.

Do I need a licence to launch a crypto exchange or swap service?

In most jurisdictions, exchanging, storing or transferring crypto assets for customers is a licensed activity, for example CASP status under MiCA in the EU or VASP registration. Requirements depend on the business model and the country, so we first map your model against the rules of the chosen jurisdictions.

What is the Travel Rule?

It is an FATF rule: when crypto assets are transferred between providers, information about the sender and the recipient must be passed along. In the EU it is set out in the regulation on information accompanying transfers. We help build it into your processes and choose a technical solution.

How long does a licence take?

It depends on the country, the regulator and how ready your documents are: from a few months to a year or more. We give realistic timelines after the first review of your project.
